Here’s everything you need to know about season 2 of Gakuen Babysitters.
The Boxer Anime and Nano Machine Anime are also set to be announced soon, can you guess their release dates?
Will there be a Gakuen Babysitters Season 2?
Gakuen Babysitters, also known as School Babysitters is based on the manga of the same name authored by Hari Tokeino. The manga is being published in LaLa magazine by publisher Hakusensha. It was first published in 2009. The manga is ongoing with 23 volumes as of now.
The first season of Gakuen Babysitters has been extremely popular among viewers who prefer watching slice-of-life anime. Its simple yet entertaining plotline was well received by the audience. Season 1 is ranked 720 and has a score of 7.9 on MAL.
Gakuen Babysitters was made by Brian’s Base studio, which also made other notable anime series such as Natsume Yuujinchou and In/Spectre. It premiered with 12 episodes in Winter of 2018. A Christmas-themed special episode was also released in the same year.
The first season of Gakuen Babysitters covered up to volume 15 of the manga. It did not cover all of the contents and some main characters of the story was also missing. Season 2 offers the possibility for these to be included.
8 more volumes of the manga have been published since the end of the anime. So as far as the content is concerned, there is enough for making another season.
Despite its popularity among fans, Gakuen Babysitters season 1 did not make much profit
Despite its popularity, the anime did poorly in terms of its Blu-ray discs and DVD.
Gakuen Babysitter sold only 568 copies of Blu-ray discs and 922 copies of DVDs on average. This is low as compared to a target of about 3000 copies. There hasn’t been a notable profit from the sale of merchandise which is on the official website of the anime.
These numbers in sales significantly decrease the possibility of a season 2 for Gakuen Babysitters. But the studio Brian’s Base has often surprised us with its unexpected sequels, such as season 2 of In/Spectre. They might announce Gakuen Babysitters season 2, considering the growing demand from fans.
Gakuen Babysitters Season 2 Announcement
There hasn’t been an official announcement by the makers regarding season 2 of Gakuen Babysitters even after 4 years since the end of the first season. It is unlikely that season 2 will come out soon.
If a second season is announced this year, we can expect the release date to be sometime in 2024 considering the time for its production.
What to Expect in Gakuen Babysitters Season 2?
