The long-awaited Kaiju No. 8 chapter 77 is here after a week of delay keeping avid manga readers on the edge of their seats for the release of chapter 78. The release date of Kaiju No. 8 chapter 78 has been announced on the Shonen Jump website.
Kaiju No. 9 proves himself a vicious threat as he controls the battlefield and tactically sets up individual fights between the strongest defense squad, including Kikoru and Hoshina, against the Kaiju numbered 11 through 15.
Meanwhile, our protagonist Kafka Hibino awaits orders to engage, he must wait while his comrades and seniors face what may be one of their most hellish opponents yet.
The chapter ends with Kikoru standing ready and watchful to face her new foe, and there is no way she is going to let this battle result in her loss again.

Kaiju No. 8 Manga 78 Spoilers and Predictions
Kaiju No. 9 strategically separated the strongest of the defense force putting them against their strongest foes yet. Will our heroes be able to stand up to the massive force of the kaiju? We will have to wait and see.
As the mangaka sets up a highly suspenseful battle, we have no choice but to wait in anticipation of the outcome of this fight.
As for predictions, Kaiju No. 9 tries to lure out Kafka in his Kaiju form and plans accordingly. The 78th chapter will most likely withhold the faceoff between Kikoru and Kaiju No.15 and this battle will be a treat to witness.
However, things will likely begin taking a turn for the worse thus forcing Kafka out of hiding and using his Kaiju form to help his squad.
This is exactly what Kaiju No.9 has planned and our protagonist will likely have to play into their hands and hopefully come out the victor.
Another route this story can play out is the death of Gen along with an insight into his backstory. Currently, however, the spotlight is on Kikoru as she overcomes her inner battles and tries to prove herself on the field.
If the fight plays out like it usually does, Kikoru will get an upper hand against Kaiju No. 15 and begin underestimating her opponent; eventually causing her to play around and ignore orders.
Narratively speaking, there is a possibility that Gen loses the fight against Kaiju No. 11 causing him to be fatally injured. This would provide a basis for Kikoru’s grief and thus unlocking her full potential for battle.
If this happens, it would all be according to Kaiju No. 9’s plan; the defeat of an enraged Kikoru would force Kafka to come out into the fight himself and reveal his Kaiju form.
Kaiju No.8 Chapter 77 Recap
The chapter starts with the appearance of 5 kaiju with 9+ fortitude, something that the Eastern division is underqualified for. Likely a result of Kaiju No.9’s strategy, they appear one on one against the numbered suit users.
Kaiju No. 15 launches an inhumanely quick attack against Kikoru and her team, she skilfully evades the attack, the same cannot be said for her squad, however.
The strategic implementation of this attack is no coincidence, the Defence Force’s greatest nightmare has come into reality.
They are trapped, and helpless, having played right into Kaiju No. 9’s plan. His pawns have taken formation and are ready to attack. Kikoru’s Full Release shoots up to 84 percent, and she prepares to “commence neutralization”.
