One Piece Manga 996 Spoilers:
The name of the Chapter is ‘The Island of the Strongest’.
The cover shows Blackbeard brushing his teeth with a hippopotamus.
The chapter opens with Tama and Komachiyo rescuing Nami and Usopp. Apparently, she has sneaked in through an enemy ship. Nami and Usopp are well but they’re quite weakened.
The baboon named Hihimaru covers the escape of Komachiyo. All Hihimaru has to do is stop Page One and Ulti for a mere 3 minutes. Tama declares that she has come to fight as a proper samurai.
Elsewhere, Yamato is busy protecting Momo and fighting at the same time. Shinobu chimes in that Yamato must ditch her and save Momo. But Yamato won’t do it – Kozuki Oden wouldn’t do such a thing.
Since a lot of armored troops are injured, Sasaki joins himself. This makes Yamato transform which in turn shocks Sasaki. Yamato’s teeth grow sharper and she growls.
They’re interrupted Franky Shogun and Hacha. Their fight damages the floor and creates chaos. Yamato immediately sneaks Momo and Shinobu away and jumps below.
Yamato is entrusting Sasaki to Franky since Luffy told her to protect Momo. As she leaves, she attacks and knocks out Hacha with ‘Narikabura’. She tells Momo to live on as he is the future. He will bring the dawn to the world!
We finally see Law. He has made his way through Kaido’s troops and finds a poneglyph. It is revealed that a while ago, he told Robin his real name. They discuss the meaning of ‘D’ and they must find the red poneglyph from the Yonko territory.
Next, we kind Kidd and Killer running towards the roof. The former has made a huge arm for himself. At the roof, Kaido is beating up the scabbards with his mace – they’re all injured from it. Big Mom arrives at the main stage but she isn’t interested in small fry – her only motive lies at the roof.
Eventually, we see Luffy making his way through 2nd floor. Just as they reach the stairs to the 3rd floor, Sanji is distracted by the sound of a woman. Someone is harassing the woman and Sanji is mad.
One Piece Chapter 996 First impressions:
The chapter is entirely focused with plot progression and exposition. We get some new threads in the story and along with them, a whole new batch of questions.
Tama’s introduction did save Usopp and Nami but how far can she run from enemies as strong as Ulti and Page One? Franky has proved his competence by pushing around a Number! Maybe Sasaki will be his final opponent! Although we believe Jinbei will defeat Sasaki.
Yamato’s powers and words are shocking. Maybe she is indeed the daughter of Kaido – if they do turn into dragons, it might add substance to the theory that Kaido is in reality, a dragon.
That is why he is known as a creature, not a human. Yamato’s words about Momo raise the question about the dawn of the world. We will discuss this in detail in the discussion article.
The update on Law and Kidd after such a long time is really helpful. All the 3 captains are following their paths properly. Law finding the poneglyph will be beneficial in the endgame of the arc. It is clear that the end of Wano will give us a clear shot at Laughtale.
