While most of the alliance has bought Kinemon’s trick to expose the traitor in their midst, the rest of the scabbards won’t be fooled. They declare that their fates are connected and together, they will avenge their master, the great Kozuki Oden. Nothing short of death can stop them.
The beast pirates prepare their cannons as they plan to use their superior ships to defeat the samurais. Kanjuro, with Momo as his captive, plans to escape and report the situation. Kawamatsu quickly attacks Kanjuro but the latter escapes on a giant bird. Kanjuro, now aware of Hiyori’s safety, plans to kill her and end the Kozuki bloodline.
The strawhats are informed of Kanjuro’s betrayal. But they fail to rescue Momo since Kanjuro unleashes a powerful ink attack ‘Ukiyo Portrait: Evening Shower’ on everyone, forcing them to defend.
Momonosuke admits to his weakness and asks everyone to stop chasing him. He promises to return safely on his own. Luffy sees his bravery and promises to rescue him in due time, because they’re friends. He orders to continue onwards to Onigashima. The samurai have suffered minimal casualties and they rush to reach the lands.
Meanwhile, a beast pirate ship escaped and started to attack the samurai with long distance high-precision cannons built in Kaido’s weapon factory. They damage multiple samurai ships but their victory is short lived. A water attack “Spear Wave” destroys them.
A fishman introduces himself as the attacker. Having destroyed the beast pirate ship, he politely talks to the alliance. This man is revealed to be Jinbe, the first son of the sea and the Helmsman of the Strawhat Pirates with a bounty of 438 million berries. The strawhats are overjoyed to see him.

One Piece 977 Spoilers, Predictions & Theories
So Kinemon’s genius ploy was short-lived in. The poor fellow got burnt in seconds. Nevertheless, their talk of luck and revenge may be a foreshadow of their death. Oda has always been a genius at foreshadowing events. Maybe this connection that the scabbards spoke of hints their eventual demise during this great rebellion.
As of One Piece Chapter 976, Momonosuke’s fate is severely unstable. Poor guy has been captured and currently, he has no way to escape. Luffy has promised to rescue him, but we are unsure of that since he will find himself busy up to the brim when he reaches Onigashima. His opponents are not to be trifled with. We do believe that Momo will survive and eventually remake the future of Wano. But at this point, we are inclined to believe that some external help will rescue him.
What about Hiyori? Will she live or will Kanjuro execute her? We believe Hiyori will live. Kanjuro knows about her existence but he doesn’t have any idea where she is hidden. It will take him a great deal of effort to find her and with the upcoming battle, it is unlikely that he will be able to spare the time and effort.
The steep power of the beast pirate ships shows how superior they are to the alliance when it comes to sea battles. Oda himself stated that he wants to show more battles on the sea but since the people on the ships are much stronger than the weaponry, its hard for him.
We believe the alliance will face a lot of fire when they approach Onigashima and everyone will use their long-distance powers to destroy those ships. However, a battle to land on Onigashima can be foreseen easily. Its only logical given how cautious Orochi is.
Jinbe’s return in One Piece Chapter 976 is an incredible relief and a massive boost to the alliance’s power. Jinbe’s strength is unparalleled and his effectiveness near sea can knock out even the strongest of opponents; he is a former Shichibukai after all. Knowing his past imprisonment in Impel Down, where the Numbers operate, we believe Jinbe will have a massive showdown with the numbers and defeat them.
But the question remains. How did Jinbe escape Whole Cake Island? Why is he unscathed even though he and his fellow fishmen were fighting a Yonko crew? Why has he appeared now of all places? What stalld him from joining during the previous arcs? Big mom chased the strawhats almost immediately after their escape. SO what happened to her fight with the fishmen army? These will be revealed in One Piece 977 and so on.
