Now, let us have a short recap of what we saw in this chapter. While it had little to no action, this was by far, one of the most intriguing chapters we have seen. It managed to hype us up so much for the upcoming Solo Leveling Chapter.
We start with Ashborn telling Sung Jin Woo that he can choose to live in this world. It is a world made from the powers of both of them. Jin Woo will be omnipotent in that world – it will be an endless dream of happiness for him. He can right his wrongs and do whatever he pleases.
Jin Woo seems uninterested in the notion. It is, after all, a dream. It is the territory of death! And he wants reality. However, the Shadow Monarch says how closely he has been watching Jin Woo.
He speaks of Jin Woo’s past and reveals that at this point, they have nearly become the same. Ashborn is Jin Woo!
Meanwhile, the Frost and Beast Monarchs realize that Jin Woo’s heart is still beating. They want to kill this human host, this fake Monarch. This will prevent the arrival of Ashborn, the real Monarch. However, Sung Il Hwan arrives and tries to stop this from happening.
Ashborn shows the past. A long time ago, there was the Absolute being. There was Light and Darkness.
The Being Divided these into 8 parts each and all these fragments of light and darkness fought endlessly. When the Emissaries of Light realized that the Absolute Being looked at this war with Amusement, they rebelled.
Ashborn was the sole Light Emissary who tried to stop the rebellion. He was defeated but he released his power to be the King of the Dead. Unfortunately, by then, the Absolute Being had been killed and the Rulers came into being!
