Tsurune: What is it About?
Tsurune is a sports anime that involves the story of high school students competing in Kyudo, the Japanese martial art of archery. Protagonist Minato Narumiya is seen struggling to continue with the sport due to an incident during his middle school years.
However, with the help of his friends and guidance from his new mentor and guide Masaki Takigawa, he successfully overcomes his fears and gets back to the kyudo with greater zeal.
For people wondering why an anime about kyudo is named “Tsurune”, Tsurune is the sound made by the bowstring when the arrow is released. This sound is what inspired young Minato to learn kyudo and hence the name of the anime.
