Hinamatsuri Manga
Hinamatsuri is an anime adaptation of the manga of the same name written by Masao Ohtake. The first season had 12 episodes which covered 9 volumes of the manga. Some content from those volumes wasn’t animated.
There have been 10 more volumes till then. The manga ended in 2020 with 19 volumes in total.
Thus, there is enough content for the production of the second season of Hinamatsuri if the makers decide to go for it.
Hinamatsuri Popularity
Hinamatsuri season 1 has received positive reviews so far. It is ranked 402 by over 470,000 members on MAL. The anime received an average rating of 8 on aniDB. It was one of the funniest series of 2018.
The manga was nominated for the 52nd Seiun Awards in the Best Comic Category in 2021.

Hinamatsuri Blu-ray
Despite the high popularity while it was on the air, Hinamatsuri did not have notable profits in terms of sales of Blu-ray discs. It only sold 708 copies in total and ranked 14 on the Blu-Ray Disc Ranking for one week.
But the anime served as promotional material for the manga and the anime received high ratings across all the streaming platforms.
A season 2 seems unlikely for now because there hasn’t been an announcement even after 5 years. But it is not impossible, as we have sequels of anime being released even after a long time has passed. Mushishi season 2 came out 9 years after its first season and it was as good as the first season.
Hinamatsuri Plot
Yoshifumi Nitta is a yakuza member. His life changes forever when a capsule falls on his head all of a sudden. A young blue-haired girl appears from inside the capsule.
Nitta believes it all to be a dream but accepts his reality when the capsule and the girl are still in his apartment the next morning. The girl tells him nothing but her name and introduces herself as Hina.
She tells him that she possesses superpowers. She uses that power to make Nitta buy things for her. Nitta is forced to let Hina live with him and becomes her caregiver.
Hina is supposed to use her powers freely from time to time or they will explode. Her power turns out to be very useful to Nitta. She helps him at work. She even wipes out his enemy organization.
Nitta earns recognition from the boss of his organization. What follows is a series of hilarious events involving Hina’s eccentricity and Nitta’s struggles as his caregiver.
As the story proceeds, we meet Hina’s classmates from her new school and other girls with supernatural powers following her. Every character in the anime is extremely amusing.

What to Expect in Hinamatsuri Season 2?
The plot of season 2 will be in continuation to the first season of Hinamatsuri. While it is not known if the adaptation will follow the manga as it is, we can assume that the contents will not deviate too much from its source.
