Nier: Automata Ver1.1a Episode 2 Review:
The audience who is not familiar with the Nier: Automata game series seems captivated by the storytelling and this unexplored post-apocalyptic world.
The slow-paced nature of this episode is kind of disappointing for some after the intense action sequence of the first episode. But much of the audience enjoyed this episode for its exploration of its rich world.
Though viewers who have not played the game will still have many questions, which will be made clearer in the upcoming episodes.
The music pieces played throughout this episode have won the hearts of the fans. The music director by Yukio Nagasaki who has worked on many animes of which the most recognizable being One Piece, Dragon Ball Z, and Bleach, has done a fantastic job in this anime’s soundtracks.
Those who have played the game, are satisfied with the adaptation though the events in this episode were not in the game. But the directional choice to establish the nature of the machines and a proper introduction to the human resistance teams is important from the narrative standpoint of a TV show.
The overall episode was positively received, and the viewers were eager to see the upcoming plot point to be revealed.
